J Craig Fong has been practicing law for almost 30 years. His practice is devoted exclusively to United States immigration and nationality law. He is a graduate of Yale, The University of Pennsylvania, and la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Mr. Fong handles family–based green cards, applications for adjustment of status, E treaty investors and treaty traders, L intra–company transferees, I journalists, R religious workers, and US naturalization. In addition, he also represents applicants who need I-512 and I-601 waivers for prior deportation, overstay, alleged fraud or misrepresentation, and other grounds of inadmissibility. He is also a nationally-recognized leader in providing immigration advice to non–traditional families.
Mr. Fong has taught immigration law classes for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), and the Federal Bar Association (FBA). He has also spoken on other topics at Harvard Law School, at University of California at Los Angeles (School of Social Policy and School of Information and Library Science), and at University of LaVerne School of Law.
From the Fong & Chun law offices in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, Mr. Fong is available for consultation, by appointment. With prior arrangements, J can provide consultations in Palm Springs and other cities of the Coachella valley, as well as from our base in Paris, France.
J currently divides his time between practicing law in Los Angeles and Palm Springs and reading and writing in the "commune libre" of Montmartre in Paris. With the help of his husband, Andrew, and their cats Rose and Félicité, he strives to refresh his Japanese, improve his knowledge of French language, wine, and cheese, and write the Great American Novel.
J is exceptionally known for providing immigration counsel to nontraditional families.
